High-Grade Lead Ore
Concentrates (Galena).
Primary Smelter Feedstock
HUTKA SA secures and distributes premium Lead Concentrates, extracted primarily from Galena (PbS) polymetallic deposits across Tier-1 mining jurisdictions. Our lead concentrates act as the critical baseload raw material for global primary custom smelters.
Lead smelting is an essential component of modern industry. Beyond its primary application in manufacturing SLI (Starting, Lighting, and Ignition) batteries and advanced lead-acid energy storage, the smelting of our concentrates yields highly lucrative precious metal by-products—most notably Silver (Ag) and Gold (Au)—providing significant margin enhancement for our refining partners.
Production & Assay Profiles
Because lead is typically found alongside zinc, our mining partners utilize advanced differential froth flotation. The crushed ore is treated with specific depressants to inhibit zinc, allowing the lead particles to be floated, skimmed, and thickened into a high-grade concentrate. We supply two distinct commercial profiles.
| Type I: High-Silver Lead Concentrate | |
|---|---|
| Lead (Pb) Base | 60.0% – 70.0% |
| Silver (Ag) Credits | 1,000 – 3,000+ g/t |
| Zinc (Zn) | 5.0% Max. |
| Bismuth (Bi) Penalty | 0.05% Threshold |
| Moisture (H2O) | 8.0% Max. |
| Type II: Standard Lead Concentrate | |
|---|---|
| Lead (Pb) Base | 50.0% – 60.0% |
| Silver (Ag) Credits | 300 – 1,000 g/t |
| Iron (Fe) | 10.0% Max. |
| Arsenic (As) Penalty | 0.50% Threshold |
| Antimony (Sb) Penalty | 0.50% Threshold |
Safe Handling & IMSBC Compliance
Lead concentrates are extremely heavy and highly susceptible to moisture retention. Managing this moisture is a critical safety parameter to prevent cargo liquefaction and vessel destabilization during ocean transit.
HUTKA SA operates covered, highly ventilated stockpile facilities at all export terminals. Our logistics teams rigorously manage stockpile turnover and utilize mechanical thickening and filtration processes to ensure all shipments fall safely below the Transportable Moisture Limit (TML) set by the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) code.
Environmental Stewardship & Toxicity Management
Lead is a highly regulated substance. HUTKA SA partners exclusively with mines that adhere to strict ESG protocols, including the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM). We ensure our upstream sources utilize closed-loop water systems to prevent heavy-metal soil contamination, provide advanced PPE to mitigate occupational exposure, and adhere strictly to international Basel Convention guidelines regarding the transboundary movement of hazardous wastes.
Bulk Logistics & Export Protocols
Prior to loading, BQCIS draws composite samples to certify the Transportable Moisture Limit (TML) and Flow Moisture Point (FMP), ensuring absolute bulk vessel safety.
Loading Formats
Depending on buyer volume, concentrates are loaded loose into Bulk Carrier holds via covered conveyor systems, or packaged into 2MT Jumbo Bags (FIBCs) with internal liners for containerized freight.
Draft Survey (Weight)
For bulk ocean freight, final wet metric tonnage (WMT) is determined by an independent Marine Draft Survey conducted by BQCIS alongside the ship’s Master prior to departure.
Umpire Sampling
Representative samples are sealed and retained. In the event of an assay discrepancy between loading and discharge ports, samples are sent to an agreed umpire laboratory (e.g., AHK).

Every shipment is cleared for international customs with a comprehensive, fully compliant document packet dispatched via express courier to the buyer’s bank or office.
