HUTKA SA supplies high-density mixed aluminum castings, globally recognized under the ISRI designation “TENSE”. Recovered primarily from end-of-life vehicle dismantlement and heavy industrial tear-downs, this material consists of clean aluminum automobile engine blocks, cylinder heads, manifolds, and transmission casings.
Tense scrap acts as the ideal, high-yield feedstock for secondary smelting operations. It is the core raw material utilized by foundries to produce vital casting alloys such as ADC12, A380, and LM24 for the global automotive and aerospace manufacturing sectors.
Material Composition & Tolerances
Our Tense scrap strictly adheres to ISRI guidelines. The material is mechanically broken down and passed through heavy-duty magnetic drums to eliminate ferrous attachments (such as steel bolts or cast iron sleeves) to protect our buyers’ furnace integrity.

Heavy Material Processing
Unlike aluminum sheet or wire, casting scrap is inherently brittle and highly dense. Baling “Tense” scrap in hydraulic presses can cause the material to shatter, damaging the equipment and creating unwanted “fines” (aluminum dust) which burn off during remelting.
Therefore, HUTKA SA processes Tense scrap mechanically—breaking down oversized blocks into manageable chunks. The material is then staged in dry, concrete-floored yards before being loaded in bulk or packaged into heavy-duty industrial sacks for secure ocean transit.

Tense scrap is the lifeblood of closed-loop automotive manufacturing. By taking end-of-life engine blocks and refining them back into secondary casting alloys (like ADC12), HUTKA SA bypasses the massive energy demands of primary bauxite smelting. This process saves up to 95% of the greenhouse gas emissions associated with primary aluminum production, directly advancing our partners’ ESG and sustainability targets.
Processing & Export Protocols
Independent surveyors from BQCIS verify the efficacy of our magnetic separation lines, ensuring the scrap is free of hidden steel bolts, iron sleeves, and excessive dirt.
Mechanical Sizing
Oversized engine blocks and transmission casings are mechanically broken or crushed to ensure they fit easily into standard foundry melting crucibles upon arrival.
Export Packaging
Because Tense cannot be baled, it is typically packed into heavy-duty 1MT – 1.5MT Super Sacks (FIBCs), Gaylord boxes on pallets, or loaded loose in bulk depending on buyer capability.
FCL Containerization
Packaged or loose scrap is loaded into standard 20′ FCL containers, maximizing weight capacity at ~20 to 22 Metric Tons per container. Bolt seals are applied immediately.
