Mastering Metallurgical Purity
HUTKA SA manages a comprehensive copper portfolio that spans the entire value chain—from extracting primary concentrates to refining 99.99% ultra-pure industrial cathodes.
How We Achieve 99.99%: To reach LME Grade A standards, primary concentrates and secondary scrap are first smelted into blister copper (approx. 98% pure). These are cast into massive anodes and submerged in electrolytic cells containing sulfuric acid.
An electrical current forces pure copper ions to migrate and deposit onto stainless steel starter sheets. Impurities—including precious metals and penalty elements—drop to the bottom as “anode slime.” This precise electro-refining guarantees absolute electrical conductivity (IACS) for our end-users.
Precision Fabrication
Once optimal purity is validated by independent BQCIS assay labs, the copper is ready for industrial fabrication.
Cathodes are either shipped directly to brass mills or melted in continuous casting facilities to produce Oxygen-Free (Cu-OF) or Electrolytic Tough Pitch (Cu-ETP) Wire Rods. By strictly controlling the oxygen content and eliminating trace elements during production, we ensure our copper can be drawn into ultrafine gauges for high-tech telecommunications without fracturing.
