Polymetallic Smelter Feedstocks

Because zinc and lead are geologically symbiotic, they are co-extracted and separated via advanced differential froth flotation. HUTKA SA secures and distributes both premium Zinc (Sphalerite) and Lead (Galena) concentrates from Tier-1 mining jurisdictions across the Americas.

Our concentrates serve as the primary raw material for custom smelters worldwide. We deliver highly consistent product lots with optimized moisture levels, tightly controlled penalty elements, and highly lucrative precious metal credits (particularly Silver/Ag in our lead concentrates) to maximize smelter margins.

Assay & Element Profiles

Final settlement assays for payable metals (Zn, Pb, Ag, Au) and deductions for penalty elements are determined based on mutual agreement or umpire laboratory results (e.g., AHK / Alex Stewart). Below are nominal specification ranges.

Zinc Concentrate (Zn) Profile
Zinc (Zn) Base45.0% – 55.0%
Silver (Ag) CreditsVariable (Typically 50 – 150 g/t)
Iron (Fe) Penalty8.0% Threshold
Silica (SiO2) Penalty3.5% Threshold
Moisture (H2O)8.0% Max.
Lead Concentrate (Pb) Profile
Lead (Pb) Base50.0% – 65.0%
Silver (Ag) CreditsHigh (Typically 500 – 2,500+ g/t)
Bismuth (Bi) Penalty0.05% Threshold
Arsenic (As) Penalty0.50% Threshold
Moisture (H2O)8.0% Max.

Safe Handling & IMSBC Compliance

Managing moisture in heavy concentrates is a critical safety parameter to prevent cargo liquefaction and vessel destabilization during ocean transit.

HUTKA SA operates covered, well-ventilated stockpile facilities at export terminals. Our logistics teams actively manage stockpile turnover and utilize moisture-reduction processes to ensure all shipments fall safely below the Transportable Moisture Limit (TML) set by the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) code.

Responsible Mining & Tailings Management

HUTKA SA partners exclusively with mines that adhere to strict ESG protocols, including the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM). We ensure our upstream sources utilize closed-loop water systems to minimize environmental impact, prioritize occupational health & safety regarding lead exposure, and are 100% free of conflict-zone origins.

Bulk Logistics & Export Protocols

Phase 01
TML & Moisture Testing

Prior to loading, BQCIS draws composite samples to certify the Transportable Moisture Limit (TML) and Flow Moisture Point (FMP), ensuring absolute bulk vessel safety.

Phase 02

Loading Formats

Depending on buyer volume, concentrates are loaded loose into Bulk Carrier holds via covered conveyor systems, or packaged into 2MT Jumbo Bags (FIBCs) for containerized freight.

Phase 03

Draft Survey (Weight)

For bulk ocean freight, final wet metric tonnage (WMT) is determined by an independent Marine Draft Survey conducted by BQCIS alongside the ship’s Master prior to departure.

Phase 04

Umpire Sampling

Representative samples are sealed and retained. In the event of an assay discrepancy between loading and discharge ports, samples are sent to an agreed umpire laboratory.
